Job Summary
Teach assigned classes and perform activities related to classroom instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites include the following. Addiitional related duties may be assigned.
- Teach lecture and language lab components of various level Spanish courses.
- Utilize Rock Valley College’s chosen Learning Management System (LMS) for all grading, assignments, communication and student records.
- Plan course content and assign appropriate course work.
- Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
- Meet classes at assigned times.
- Provide availability for students interaction before and after class
- (1 hour weekly minimum, per 3 credit hour)
- Participate in assessment of student learning.
- Maintain student records, evaluate student progress, and assign grades.
- Prepare course/class reports as required.
- Attend required meetings (faculty, division, in-service training, etc.).
- Keep informed on the latest research and journal articles.
- Adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any and policies or laws that govern higher education at Rock Valley College.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Spanish.
- Education beyond the Master’s level is desirable, a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Teaching experience in college-level courses is preferred.
- Commitment to the community college mission.
- Interest in involvement in division and college initiatives.
