Class Description
Prepare and teach assigned Human Services, Counseling, or Social Work courses in accordance with course outline and published course schedule; assess student progress in each course taught; maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress in assigned courses; seek continuous improvement in student-centered learning and pedagogy; stay current in his/her discipline; maintain scheduled office hours for availability to students; advise students; create a yearly individual professional development plan; participate with other faculty in developing and managing courses, curricula and academic policy; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and others in order to contribute to the success of CCBC as an institution.
May be teaching at various campus locations.Minimum Requirements
Minimum of Master’s degree in a related clinical field. Licensure or certification in a behavioral health counseling field or social work.
A minimum of five (5) years of clinical behavioral health counseling or social work experience.
Experience teaching at the post-secondary level required.
Preferred Requirements:
Community College experience preferred. Documented approval to supervise Alcohol and Drug Counselors or Social Workers preferred. Experience teaching introductory social work or clinical counseling coursework, including individual and group counseling techniques, and addiction-specific coursework. Two (2) years of experience providing clinical supervision to interns at the graduate or undergraduate level (preferred). Online teaching experience preferred.
