Substitute, Part-Time Hourly, Temporary Pool – Business and Finance

DESCRIPTION

This is a pool of applicants for any substitute, part-time hourly, temporary positions that may become available in the Business and Finance Office at Napa Valley College.  Applications submitted to this temporary pool will be screened by the Office of Human Resources, Training & Development for minimum qualifications.  These temporary positions are at-will employment.

Possible positions that may fall under this Business and Finance temporary pool are:

  • Account Clerk II ($15.00)
  • Business Office Clerk ($15.19)
  • Account Clerk III ($16.57)
  • Account Clerk IV ($17.73)
  • Accountant I ($18.87)
  • Accountant II ($20.17)
  • Accountant III ($22.53)
  • Chief Accountant ($24.13)
The job descriptions for each job title are:
  • Account Clerk II - The primary objective of this position is to perform a wide variety of clerical/accounting duties involving the maintenance of fixed assets inventory records, posting, sorting, and other related work in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Business Office Clerk – The primary objective of this position is to receive, deposit, and account for all moneys received by the district, process transactions related to student accounts, and perform accounting of all fixed assets.
  • Account Clerk III - The primary objective of this position is to perform accounting/clerical work in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial, payroll, and accounting records and to assist with various accounting projects.
  • Account Clerk IV - The primary objective of this position is to perform account clerical work in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial, payroll, and accounting records and to assist with various accounting projects.
  • Accountant I - The primary objective of this position is to perform accounting and fiscal work in the maintenance, examination, and verification of fiscal records and to perform lower-level accounting functions.
  • Accountant II - The primary objective of this position is to perform accounting and fiscal work in the maintenance, examination, analysis, and verification of fiscal records, and to perform cost and fund accounting and reporting.
  • Accountant III - The primary objective of this position is to perform complex and diverse professional accounting and fiscal work in the maintenance, examination, analysis, and verification of fiscal records, and to perform cost and fund accounting and reporting.
  • Chief Accountant - The primary objective of this position is to perform complex and diverse professional accounting and fiscal work in the maintenance, examination, analysis, and verification of fiscal records, and to assist the Director of Fiscal Services and the Vice President, Business and Finance in developing budgets and projections, performing year-end closing, and monitoring compliance with District policies.
