Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Participates in the development of project plans, and proposes/recommends revisions and/or refinements, including identifying and proposing solutions to potential problem areas, for health campus buildings and infrastructure. Ability to research, collect and analyze data from departments to develop project programs; supports project managers and architectural design team in creation of construction documents; plans and oversees disruption mitigations for construction projects in acute patient care areas; and coordination and facilitation of complex infrastructure shutdowns; works with regulatory team and departments to prepare spaces for licensing. Uses advanced planning concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues and provide high level expertise and assistance to senior management on all aspects of capital project planning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, healthcare administration or planning-related area; and five (5) years of related experience/training, OR Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training.
  • Basic CAD and/or Bluebeam experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge/skills in architecture, or other planning-related fields.
  • Extensive experience in healthcare project development, preferably in a university setup or similar complex setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with HCAI and CDPH.
  • Background in healthcare facilities planning, space utilization, capital improvements, and capital funding mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of medical centers and university organizations, activities, functions and goals.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications and communicate information to lay persons.
  • Ability to research and present findings in reports, skills to recognize problems, develop potential solutions. Implement appropriate solutions and evaluate results and progress.
  • Strong analytical and qualitative skills.
  • Demonstrated writing excellence including the preparation of official correspondence for signature of Healthcare System Officials.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Advanced skills in using electronic spreadsheets, database modeling applications, automated reporting, word processing and presentation software.
  • Strong leadership, team management and consensus- building skills. Ability to employ interpersonal skills in situations calling for tact, diplomacy and flexibility.
  • Solid ability to coordinate work of individuals in variety of health systems and campus offices, architects, project managers and committees in meeting deadlines. Ability to act as intermediary between facility Users/staff and architects, engineers and contractors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Architecture, professional engineering, healthcare administration, or other planning-related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading transition/activation planning and building fit-up for major capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with clinical operations and workflow.
  • Understanding of medical equipment planning and procurement including demonstrated experience in supporting complex hospital equipment replacement projects.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
