Position Summary

Under direct supervision of Site Manager, assist in serving nutritious, well-balanced meals to senior clients and assist in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing and kitchen area, as well as assist in minor office work.

NOTE: If you are employed under a County Contract, it is understood that if the contract is cancelled, this position becomes null and void on the date indicated by the County.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in preparation, serving and counting of meals as directed, including serving the appropriate amount of food while using proper utensils.
  • Assists with routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment, including washing all dishes.
  • Takes food temperatures and maintains log records of readings.
  • Takes food storage equipment temperatures and maintains log records of readings.
  • Observes all safety precautions & complies with all county health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Attends staff and in-service training, as required.
  • Assists Manager in minor clerical duties to include, but not limited to maintaining and updating client files, data entry, and maintenance of daily logs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of program and client files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift up to 10lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum High School graduate, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in an industrial kitchen preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Food Handler's card.

Education
High School or Equivalent (required)

Experience
Prior Experience Working In An Industrial Kitchen. (required)

Licenses & Certifications
Food Handler's Card (required)
